CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. We are a non-profit, volunteer based program that trains everyday, average Joe people to advocate for children in court in Seneca, Sandusky, and Wyandot County. The children we serve have been victims of abuse and neglect and need someone to be the their voice and speak up on what is in their best interest. As a volunteer, you would conduct an independent investigation and monitor the child's case by reviewing records and interviewing those involved in the child's life. A big role for a CASA volunteer is to develop a positive rapport with the child so they know they have a trusted adult by their side through the court process. If you are reading this and have a need to give back to your community, be a part of something bigger than yourself, or just wanting to change a child’s life for the better than don’t hesitate! You can be a child’s voice in court, you can be the voice that changes a child’s story!
