North Suburban News is a nonprofit news site, fiscally sponsored by The Online Journalism Project, allowing the organization to operate as a 501 (c)(3) charity.

Our mission is simple: To educate the communities we serve by providing residents the information they need in order to make informed decisions about their lives, their communities, their schools and their government. We aim to increase civic and community engagement through well-researched, informed and educational news articles.

Journalists and the news organizations they work for are the eyes and ears of the community. They are the watchdogs that keep the community flourishing, they are the ones that hold elected officials accountable, and they are the ones tasked with reporting the news.

Covering Winchester, Woburn, Reading, Stoneham and Wakefield, North Suburban News will focus on the key aspects of our region - community news, education, local government, and housing and development. It’s where we won’t just report the news, but research it. Where we will ensure that our residents are informed of the issues that are affecting the region.
