Sobre Nós

Founded in 1953 by a group of concerned families, The Arc has a proud history of service to people with developmental disabilities and their families. We currently serve more than 1,100 individuals annually in employment, community living, day support, and early childhood programs. Services range from coordinating developmental therapies for children to helping elderly caregivers plan for the future of their loved ones with disabilities.

The Arc’s employment programs are the cornerstone of our organization. Individuals with disabilities want to work and contribute to their community and The Arc provides resources and training so they succeed in long-term employment. In addition to the pride and independence that comes with earning their own wages, regular work allows people with disabilities to engage in ongoing physical activity and benefit from regular social interaction. Adults with disabilities participating in The Arc’s employment programs earn an average of $4.6 million in wages each year.
