Our mission is simple - reduce the barrier to access for private music lessons for students to address structural inequities in music education.
Musical Mentors Collaborative is a music nonprofit founded in 2009 and incorporated in New York State in 2011.
Musical Mentors servers over 200 students in New York City, Boston, and other areas of the U.S. who study remotely. There are two main programs, one is our University chapters in which college student volunteers teach music to students at local elementary schools, and the other program is our “Teaching Artists” program, in which professional musicians, including those at the New York Philharmonic, Grammy-award winning artists and rock band performers, are paid a modest amount to teach at need students over Zoom.
