Citizens Against Legal Abuse

CITIZENS AGAINST LEGAL ABUSE is a grassroots citizens lobby opposed to parking ticket abuses and similar opportunistic revenue-generation by cities that operate under the guise of advancing public safety and convenience. Often, cities hire private corporations or establish exploitive departments to take unfair advantage of poor and moderate income citizens who are too intimidated or can't take the time off work to challenge unfair parking tickets, code infractions, fines, and fees. Citizens Against Legal Abuse supports legitimate fees and fines. We hold corporations and government accountable when they impose legal codes in ways that don't advance the purposes of the codes, or that impose undue harm, especially when the genuine purpose is largely to raise revenue or achieve administrative "convenience" at a net cost to the public and individual citizens.
