Friends of New York City Nurse Family Partnership

We improve the lives of low-income first-time moms who have shown their determination to give their babies better chances by enrolling in New York City's division of the nationally recognized Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program. NFP offers these moms their own personal nurse who makes regular visits until a child is age 2 to assure a successful delivery, promote positive parenting and economic self-sufficiency. The strong bond that is created between mother and nurse leads to the reductions of 50% or more in such adverse outcomes as child abuse and neglect, mortality, accidents, behavioral problems and crime.
