We are an Arizona 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to protect the legacy of former racehorses through reconditioning, retraining, and rehoming.
After the Homestretch‑Arizona (ATHA) is an all-volunteer nonprofit in North Phoenix dedicated to giving retired racehorses a safe, compassionate second chapter. We provide rehabilitation, retraining, and individualized care to Thoroughbreds transitioning from the track to their forever homes.
Our work is powered by volunteers, adopters, and community partners who believe every horse deserves dignity and a future. We also serve as a hands‑on learning site for Pima Medical Institute’s Veterinary Technician Program, helping future vet techs gain real‑world equine experience while supporting the horses in our care.
ATHA is built on compassion, integrity, and lifelong commitment — restoring trust, creating new beginnings, and strengthening our community one horse at a time.
