The Theatre & Arts Leadership Kouncil (TALK) empowers teens to become difference-makers in their community through the arts. TALK provides inspiration, adult mentors, structure and a platform for teens to brainstorm, work together and to carry out arts-based projects and events. Utilizing a centralized govering group (comprised of elected teens) and five media-specific Kommitees (Electronic, Literary, Music, Performing and Visual Arts), TALK teens carry out high-profile public events largely of their own making. These include art shows, music festivals, poetry slams, theatrical productions, peformance art and arts based fund-raising. They are engaged in all aspects of TALK including branding/marketing, policy-writing, budgeting and volunteer recruitment, to name a few.
