CardioStart International, Inc.

CardioStart was conceived in 1987 as a practical attempt to harness the collective skills of western-trained experts in cardio-thoracic medicine and surgery, in order to accomplish free counselling and operative correction of diseases to people in under-developed countries. It was formally registered as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charity in 1994 in Florida, USA, and is registered separately in the United Kingdom.

OUR MISSION Using a global network of volunteer effort, and the collective skills of experts in healthcare, CardioStart International provides free heart surgery and associated medical care to children and adults living in underserved regions of the world, irrespective of political position or religious creed.

OUR VISION CardioStart International aspires to provide greater hope and support to families with children and adults afflicted with heart disease in the underserved regions of the world by…. assisting in the development of advanced heart care and related specialties; performing complex heart operations using the local facilities; providing ongoing training and educational programs; empowering local medical teams with the skills, equipment and means to increase the level of care for their patients
