Rural girls Education Supporting Committee

In Morocco, girls' dropping out of school at the secondary education level is mainly related to the geographical distance of schools, the lack of transport means and the necessary support infrastructures, the limited number of scholarships granted by the Minister of national education, besides the precarious social situation of households. The distance of schooling institutions is a significant hurdle particularly to girls schooling. The Rural Girls Education Supporting Committee (CSSF) endeavors nationwide for the support of the full schooling of girls in rural areas across Morocco, their empowerment and the consolidation of local educational NGO's abilities.

Since its creation in 1998, the CSSF has conducted a partnership with 23 Moroccan local NGO's working in 36 regions all over Morocco. Up to now, CSSF has provided financial and technical support to its partners that manage 44 girl homes in which 20 to 25 girls are accomodated. Thanks to the support of CSSF, about 2133 girls have the possibiity to fulfil secondary studies (high school). CSSF has also funded and organized more than 30 training sessions for the staff of the local NGO's in Human rights, civic education, fundraising, advocacy techniques, green culture, etc
