Our Lady of the Gulf Volunteers

Recognizing the massive destruction of Hurricane Katrina, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee developed a diocesan-wide response to provide assistance to the Mississippi Gulf Coast region. The archdiocesan response, "Rebuilding Lives, Restoring Hope," is a comprehensive effort to establish a relationship with four parishes in Hancock County, Mississippi, part of the Diocese of Biloxi. The four parish communities include: Our Lady of the Gulf Parish, St. Rose de Lima Parish, St. Clare Parish, and St. Ann Parish. The purpose of this partnership between the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and this area of the Mississippi Gulf Coast is to help people rebuild their homes through the use of skilled volunteer groups. This Catholic volunteer assistance iniative is open to homeowners of any denomination.
