World Change Starts with Educated Children

Room to Read is an award-winning global nonprofit that seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in Africa and Asia by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, Room to Read develops literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and supports girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond. To date, Room to Read has established over 13,000 libraries, constructed over 1,500 schools, published over 700 local language books, distributed over 11.5 million books, enrolled over 15,000 girls in its girls education program and impacted over 6.6 million children.
