Self-Evident Education creates multimedia resources and professional development opportunities that harness the powers of storytelling to allow educators to deeply understand the histories and legacies of systemic racism in the United States of America and to facilitate those conversations in their classrooms. We believe that learning is an essential human drive, and so the opportunity to learn will be the engine that powers the growth of our work. By empowering educators and their students with a deeper understanding of our nation’s past, we equip them with the tools to better understand our present, and imagine and build a future where racism can be intentionally dismantled.

We work with educators, schools, and districts to provide resources to help accurately and honestly examine the histories and legacies of systemic racism. Our team consists of educators, scholars, and artists.

If we do not know and understand the history of race in the United States, we cannot fully understand American history and who we are as a country. Self-Evident Education envisions a world where all young people understand and honestly assess the ways that race and racism have been intentionally constructed. Through this education they will be able to accurately analyze the present, and imagine a future where racism can be intentionally dismantled.
