BeaverTails Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival

The BeaverTails Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival takes place every February. Teams from around the world will compete in the world’s largest ice dragon boat race on the Rideau Canal Skateway at Dow’s Lake. The festival combines dragon boating with Canadian winter sports culture to deliver an exciting and unique event. Special dragon boats are equipped with skate-like blades and propelled across the ice by teams of twelve athletes using spiked ice-picks.
