Family Promise of Northern Kentucky is a sheltering program specifically designed for families. Each family will have dinner, spend the night and eat breakfast at local churches for one week at a time on a rotating schedule. While a guest at each church, volunteers will prepare meals and serve as hosts.
The volunteers are community residents who recognize that any family can lose its home, and that it takes time to find affordable housing. They volunteer to help ease the crisis each families face by offering temporary, safe, secure, comfortable lodging and home cooked meals.
This is not a "normal" time in the families' lives, and they may be feeling a lot of stress. Many people will be volunteering to make the Day Center as comfortable as possible and to offer support and hospitality while working towards goals of employment and housing.
