Sobre Nós

Founded in 1999 as a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit Making Organization. FYF plays a great role in promoting social awareness among the communities and strengthen their ability to bring about socio-economic transformation.

FYF is an initiative of citizens of the Republic of South Sudanese who have come together in a conscious effort to address some of the underlying causes of the nation's chronic under-development to enhance economic empowerment of the communities.

FYF is also registered in Kenya under the section 10 of the Societies Act of Kenya

In the Republic of the South Sudan FYF is register with the ministry of legal affairs and constitutional development and the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission under the section 11.2 of the New Sudan NGO Act.

FYF contributes to the process of nation building and the improvement of the socioeconomic well being of the people of South Sudan in general. This is being accomplished by advocating a restored and unified proven cultural heritage and facilitating an enabling environment for economic empowerment, based on principles of democratic accountability, transparency and self reliance.

Through partnership with UN, International NGOs and the Government of the Republic of the South Sudan, the objectives of FYF projects are designed to reduce the prevalence and severity of poverty and increase food security by holistically addressing the widespread relief and development needs and priorities of the rural community in the country through an integrated multi-sectoral matrix of activities. As communities are heavily reliant on agriculture, livestock and natural resources for their livelihood, a great amount of the project focuses on the community farmers, local authorities and traditional leaders to increase food security in those areas. Poverty is therefore being reduced by increasing economic productivity through agricultural organizations and innovation, increased market access and income generating activities. Increase economic productivity cannot along alleviate poverty and that is why the projects are intends to complement this aim with building community capacities to provide health services, quality education, sanitation facilities and safe drinking water and safe corridors for mobility. Finally, the projects also confront the poverty creating factors of insecurity and feeling of powerlessness and marginalization by revitalizing the civic and social institutions of the communities, empowering individuals with knowledge of the comprehensive peace agreement, new local government structures and general civic education. Community centers further constructively engage the youth and peace committees to be created and empowered to mediate conflict in the communities and build more positive inter-communal relations.
