The VTCCC is a part of a national network of nearly 100 Clean Cities Coalitions around the nation. The mission of the Clean Cities program is to advance the economic, environmental and energy security of the U.S. by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to reduced petroleum consumption in the transportation sector.
The Vermont Clean Cities Coalition (VTCCC) was initiated in 2001 and since 2006 it has been hosted at the UVM Transportation Research Center. Past and present stakeholders are numerous and diverse, consisting of both individuals and organizations. VTCCC activities have included maintaining information and databases, writing grant proposals, creating public awareness and interacting within the national network of Clean Cities programs.
