ChildBuilders

Our mission is to promote mental health and prevent abuse by empowering children, parents, and teachers with assertiveness skills, emotional control, empathy, resilience, and the ability to resolve conflict nonviolently. Funding from the Charity Guild of Catholic Women will help to implement and deliver our programs that enforce this mission in Houston's youth serving organizations. The core values students as young as age four learn are: I deserve respect, I have the right to be safe, I have the power to choose, and I will get help when the problem is too big to solve on my own. As a result, children learn strategies to become caring, nurturing individuals who will avoid trauma, show resilience when faced with adversities, make healthy life choices, and become contributing members of their families and communities.
