  • Missão

Cadmus Lifesharing Association was founded in 1989 to bring the lifesharing philosophy of the Camphill movement to the Berkshires. Camphill communities are located around the world and are founded on the principles of bringing people who have a disability to their fullest fruition by sharing life and work with others in a conscious way. The insights that guide our community arise from Anthroposophy, taught by Rudolph Steiner, which seeks to use mainly natural means to optimize physical and mental health and well-being. The Cadmus Mission is to support each other in our efforts to improve ourselves. The relationships we build among the members of our households and within Cadmus as a whole, are based on a commitment to foster a dynamic community in which it is no handicap to be "handicapped."

    Sobre Nós

Cadmus Lifesharing Association is a community of five households which support people with disabilities. Lifesharing, which is different from the more traditional shared living, simply means that people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities live together in a mutually supportive way. Cadmus households are led by single people or couples who make long-term commitments to Lifesharing and may also include their children. Lifesharing households include one or more volunteers who typically give one year of service to live within our Lifesharing households. They get to know the individuals as family members and are trusted partners in giving support. Our volunteers often say that they get more from living within our households than they give.
