    The Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution is the only graduate degree program in conflict resolution in New York City. It combines theory and applied skills practice to prepare graduate students to develop practical models for negotiating and resolving disputes among parties with differing (or seemingly differing) objectives and needs. Conflict resolution professionals work in a range of fields including business, law, education, health care, community, the environment and government. They act as negotiators, mediators, facilitators, ombudsmen, arbitrators, coaches and counselors. It is necessary for them to understand the root causes and dynamics and patterns of conflict in order for them to intervene effectively. Together with the disputing parties they develop creative ways to resolve these disputes through reasoned negotiation.
