To preserve and revitalize Oxnard’s Henry Levy House as a vibrant cultural center of the community through funding and support—also celebrating local history and heritage, nurturing education and the arts, and spearheading restoration of other historic properties citywide—while respectfully weaving in the study and exploration of local traditions, folklore and more.
The Henry Levy House is a 111 year old (as of 2026) historic landmark house in Oxnard, California in the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District. The current owner, Eric Andrist, purchased the house with his partner , Jeff, of 38 years in 2021, but unfortunately, Jeff passed away in 2023 from pulmonary fibrosis and medical errors.
The couple had plans upon buying it, to hold events there, but the City of Oxnard has caused them a lot of problems and hasn't allowed them to carry out those plans, including thwarting plans to turn it into a Bed and Breakfast. Eric, struggling to stay in the house, keep it up and keep paying for the necessary refurbishing, has created a new nonprofit so that he can raise funds to bring the house back to life by having events, and art and heritage cultural events at the house.
Eventually, Eric would like to expand the nonprofit to include fundraising to help other historic sites in the Oxnard area.
