Every children and youth in this program has the potential to contribute positively and productively to their neighborhood, their community and our province; every children and youth must feel valued and be valued. We all have a responsibility to ensure that youth have access to the right supports and the right opportunities so they can make positive choices and reach their full potential.
What differentiates our programs is the frequency and variety of moms support and children’s and youth activities, language and culture.
Our members come from a range of backgrounds, interests and professions but the one thing we all have in common is the understanding that being a mother is the toughest job there is. In addition to providing moral support to one another, our member mothers extend a helping hand to one another by providing Sunshine Meals for moms in need.
Culture is a strong part of people's lives. It influences their views, their values, their humor, their hopes, their loyalties, and their worries and fears. If you are from Mexico if your parents are Cambodian, French Canadian, or Native American, if you are German Catholic or African-American, if you are Jewish or Mormon, if you are a mixture of cultures your culture has affected you. So when you are working with people and building relationships with them, it helps to have some perspective and understanding of their cultures.
