Our mission at Urban Angels Housing and Development Center is to create a supportive environment where pregnant teens and young mothers can access safe housing, guidance, and life skills needed to break cycles of instability and build strong foundations for their families.

Urban Angels Housing and Development Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting pregnant teens and young mothers who are experiencing housing instability and economic hardship. Our mission is to provide safe transitional housing, life-skills training, mentorship, and supportive services that empower young mothers to build stable and independent futures for themselves and their children.

Urban Angels was created in response to the growing need for safe housing and supportive programs for vulnerable young mothers in the Detroit community. Many pregnant teens and young women face significant challenges such as homelessness, lack of family support, limited education opportunities, and financial insecurity. Without a safe and stable environment, these young mothers and their children are at risk of long-term poverty and instability.

Our organization seeks to break this cycle by offering a safe and nurturing environment where young mothers can focus on personal growth, parenting skills, education, and long-term independence.

Who We Serve

Urban Angels Housing and Development Center primarily serves pregnant teens and young mothers between the ages of 16 and 22 who are experiencing housing insecurity or lack of family support. Many of the young women we serve come from low- to moderate-income communities and face barriers such as limited access to stable housing, employment opportunities, and educational resources.

Our programs are designed to support both the mother and child by providing a stable living environment and access to supportive services that promote long-term success.
