The On Par Project, Inc.
Missão
Firearm injury is expensive, and paid by the public, costing taxpayers over $12 billion dollars year after year. The On Par Project's mission is a national movement to shift the direct costs of firearm injury from the public to firearm manufacturers by restoring standard corporate accountability without violating the Second Amendment. Our proposal, introduced at the state level, calls for legislators to institute a new condition of licensing that requires firearm manufacturers to contribute to a first-payer restitution fund modeled on Workers Compensation. This fund would cover the medical, funeral and burial and other direct costs associated with gun injury of eligible claimants.
The On Par Project, Inc. is the parent organization of The RIFL Alliance, the source of The RIFL Act, circulating in the Illinois legislature (HB3320/SB7922)
Sobre Nós
In a nutshell, our all-volunteer organization represents the public which pays the direct costs of gun injury of all causes, suicide, homicide, and accidental shooting, through tax money paid to the state's Medicaid and Medicare; for employers, large labor unions and the privately insured who pay for gun injury through higher health insurance premiums and increases in the costs of physicians and hospital services.
Our effort is supported by well-regarded public health experts, physicians, economists, leaders in private industry, compensation specialists, and responsible gun owners, among others.
