Center for Civic Engagement at Drexel University

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Center for Civic Engagement’s (CCE)is to empower Drexel students and foster professional development by creating opportunities for students to utilize and enrich the knowledge and skills gained in academic coursework through practical experiences that improve one’s community. The CCE gives students the resources and opportunities to develop into leaders by orienting every student to the value of service experiences and supporting all levels of student interest through programming.

In order to provide service-learning resources and support services to students, faculty and university and community partners, the CCE draws on national research and best practices and employs a network of partners, students and faculty. The CCE staff is committed to providing convenient, reliable coordination of services by utilizing technology, orienting and training student volunteers, supporting faculty efforts and building sustainable strategic partnerships within the Drexel University, Lancaster Avenue and greater Philadelphia communities.

The CCE invests in a holistic approach to staff development and recognizes and rewards the accomplishments of staff by providing a supportive, respectful working environment with opportunities for growth.
