The Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood Foundation (SUDC) is the only organization worldwide whose purpose is to promote awareness, fund research and serve those affected by SUDC. Our vision is to live in a world without SUDC. SUDC is a category of death in children between the ages of 1 and 18 that remains unexplained after a thorough investigation, including an autopsy. In the United States, approximately 450 children between the ages of 1 and 18 are affected by SUDC every year, and is the fifth leading category of death in children between the ages of one and four. Currently, there is no way to predict or prevent SUDC, and we hope that future research will lead to the identification of ways to predict and prevent it.
