Founded in 1985, Battle Creek Nature Education Society is dedicated to the development of a responsible environmental ethic by providing opportunities for environmental education and compatible recreation; and the preservation of the natural heritage of Calvert County. BCNES promotes and supports the work of county’s Division of Natural Resources. Program areas include environmental education and awareness, advocacy and outreach, and land protection.
