Sobre Nós

The mission of Pulaski County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA): "To speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children; and to help assure each child reaches a safe, permanent, nurturing home."

CASA recruits and trains community volunteers to advocate for these children in the court system. CASAs maintain contact with children, monitor all parties' compliance with court orders, investigate alternatives to foster care, and testify as to what is in the child's best interest, as well as to the child's own stated wishes.

CASAs generally work 5-15 hours per month, depending on the case. CASA has been found nationally to reduce the time that children spend in foster care and to reduce the chances that children will re-enter the dependency/neglect system. Children with CASA volunteers are more likely to receive the services they need than those without CASAs.
