Stop BHOD is a community organizaion created to stop the reopening and expansion of the Brooklyn House of Detention (BHOD). We believe the $460 million that NYC has budgeted to reopen and expand this jail is wasteful and unnecessary. The existing dormant facility is outmoded and inhumane. Furher, a 1,500 bed prison does not belong in what is now a thriving residential community.
