Housing Development Fund

The Housing Development Fund, Inc. (HDF) believes that all families should have the opportunity and access to affordable housing, and that affordable housing and economic diversity are beneficial to communities. HDF has financed over 1,000 high-quality, affordable rental or homeownership units across over 50 multifamily developments. Our residential lending program has provided bridge loans to more than 1,600 households to purchase homes, including 230 formerly residents of public housing. HDF also provides first time homebuyers' education and one-on-one counseling to help families qualify for mortgage financing programs. Critically important, HDF also counsels families facing foreclosure and has helped many individuals remain in their homes. HDF is also launching new products to help low- and moderate-income households make energy improvements to their homes, and a product aimed at community revitalization through responsible, sustainable owner occupancy (we call it Landlord Entrepreneurship).
