The Stock Pile is a project of the Stark County Regional Planning Commission. It was started in 1998 with the support of the Solid Waste District and Community Development Block Grant Funds. At the time of creation, there were no other reuse stores in Stark County and substandard housing was a growing problem, which led to the Stock Pile's inception. The Stock Pile serves our community by making new and gently used reusable building materials like doors, windows, paint, lumber, and hardware available to the public at 1/3-1/2 the price of retail. The Stock Pile helps to improve sub-standard housing in North East Ohio and helps to reduce waste by saving reusable building materials from entering the waste stream and ending up in the landfill. We strive to empower homeowners to make their homes safer, more secure, better functioning, and more beautiful by giving them access to new and gently used affordable building materials. We are open to the public, but we also offer free membership with a 20% off discount. Our membership serves low-to-moderate income households, those 62 years of age or older, the disabled, and active or veteran military members of our community.
