A wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a critical illness. 

This one belief guides us in everything we do at Make-A-Wish. It inspires us to grant life-changing wishes for children going through so much. It compels us to be creative in exceeding the expectations of every wish kid. It drives us to make our donated resources go as far as possible. Most of all, it's the founding principle of our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.

Children from across our chapter who fight critical illness' need our help. Constant visits to the hospital, the feeling of isolation and the fear of the unknown is what many of these children face on a day-to-day basis.

However, the promise of a wish granted and journey these children take from wish discovery to a wish granted changes all of that. Hope, joy and anticipation fill their minds and hearts, often helping them continue or renew their fighting spirit.

Research shows, and physicians agree, wishes can help improve a child's quality of life and produce better health outcomes. Members of the Make-A-Wish Medical Advisory Council share the life-changing impact wishes have — beyond just medicine — on their patients and their families.
