Our Mission is:
“To inspire, engage, and transform southern Delaware through the power of live orchestral
music shared with passion, precision, and purpose.”
We were founded three years ago as a result of a Facebook post seeking people to play chamber music. The response was so overwhelming that we formed a string orchestra of 20 community members from all ages, backgrounds and experience. We have grown into a 75 piece symphony orchestra, and our music director is James Anderson, head of Orchestral Studies at University of Delaware. We serve three communities: our musicians, our audiences, and the community at large with outreach programs that bring the joy of orchestral students to a wide range of our neighbors. We are not just an orchestra, but a member of the arts community committed to making Southern Delaware a better place to live and learn.
