HIP Housing specializes in providing creative affordable housing solutions to individuals in San Mateo County, California. Each year our programs impact over 3,000 people in our community. Our three programs include:

The Home Sharing Program: Links people who have room in their home to share, with individuals who need a place to live at an affordable price. This arrangement reduces housing costs for both parties and enables working people to afford to live in San Mateo County, helps struggling homeowners to protect their home from foreclosure, and seniors to remain independent in their home. HIP Housing has one of the largest Home Sharing programs in the nation and has received national media attention: Newsweek, The Oprah Show, USA Today, etc.

The Self-Sufficiency Program: Enables low-income families to transition to self-reliance, by providing what is necessary for them to succeed: housing assistance, case management, connection to education and job training, and referrals to valuable community resources.

The Property Development Program: Expands the pool of affordable housing for low-income residents by developing new, or acquiring existing housing.
