Nido de Esperanza
Sobre Nós
“Grounded in science, delivered with love”
Nido De Esperanza (Nido) is a community-based organization serving low-income families in Washington Heights and Inwood from pregnancy until their child is three years old. Our mission is to create a strong foundation for a baby in the first 1,000 days of life through holistic family services, helping families thrive and disrupting long-term financial poverty. Nido was founded in 2016 and currently supports ~120 families.
- We take a two-generation approach (parent + baby) with early and frequent interventions from pregnancy through the child’s third birthday.
- We intentionally and simultaneously work with the baby and parent to help them succeed together.
- We recognize and respond to the impact of traumatic stress on our parents, babies, families and community; we see the resilience in all families.
Our goal is to build a community of hope by engaging both early and often. In order to do that, our families participate in group work, individual work, and workshops / classes, while also receiving numerous material goods to help support them along the way.
