Access to Independence

Access To Independence of San Diego, Inc. is a center for independent living, serving the counties of San Diego, Imperial, and Honolulu. Each branch offers core services that include transition, diversion, peer support, personal assistance, advocacy, and information and referral. In addition to these services, each branch offers unique programs based on the local needs of the community we serve. All of our services are free of charge to all people with a disability regardless of type of disability or age. Access to independence is committed to community integration and advocate on systemic issues in order to create barrier-free communities. 

Our mission is to promote full participation of people with disabilities; to help maintain, sustain, and maximize independence. We promise our consumers to be on the cutting-edge of issues that affect them and to offer relevant programs and listen to their needs. We promise that we’ll work together with our consumers to secure a community that is open, inclusive, and free of barriers in all areas of life.
