Music for Seniors

"Sharing live music, lighting up lives!" Music for Seniors recruits, trains and schedules area Musician Partners to participate in significant civic involvement through sharing one-hour live and engaging music programs with under-served older adult groups. We accomplish our mission through 3 separate programs: OUTREACH - delivering programs to groups in recreational and care settings; CONCERTS - offering monthly public daytime events at varying accessible venues; and EDUCATION - teaching group classes in instrument and vocal performance.

We connect individuals. Music is our vehicle. Sharing these live music experiences enriches the lives of musician and senior participants alike, two groups of individuals whose paths otherwise might never cross. This strengthens our whole community. About 35% of our Musician Partners are seniors themselves, so quality of life for older adults is enhanced through both the giving and receiving of services. Through our Music Connecting Generations initiative, we enlist student and youth participants.
