Life Quality USA’s mission is to prevent and aid in the treatment of Concussion generated TBI’s (Traumatic Brain Injuries) by providing accurate concussion assessments to those who can’t afford expensive neurological clinics. Especially combat veterans suffering from PTSD and un-daignosed TBI and youth with head injuries resulting from playground, school and sporting event accidents. – “BrainSaver Testing^™” has been developed to carry out this mission.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) concussions can devastate the health of a Marine, Navy Seal or Soldier involved in a battle or an exploding roadside bomb. TBI too often permanently devastates the lives of the football player who blocked or was tackled hard or the elderly woman who tripped and fell or suffered the side effects from a prescription drug change. Veterans, play-ground youth, youth sports participants and survivors of an auto accident, all often suffer concussions that go un-noticed, but would not with proper concussion testing. Too often a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) concussion is missed or improperly diagnosed resulting in a treatable head-injury becoming a life altering permanent un-treated brain damage.

Concussions have damaging long-term effects on people. Those with brain damage from concussions may not be able to hold onto a job or do well in school because they have lost the ability to stay focused. In addition, concussions may create personality changes ranging from withdrawn and anti-social to becoming violent and abusive. And with concussions, seniors most frequently suffer from diminished memory and equilibrium problems.

Combat Veteran often have TBI’s that were not diagnosed. Children and student athletes even after an Emergency Room or the doctor’s office visit, following playground or organized athletic field accidents often have concussions and TBI’s that go un- or mis-diagnosed. Instead of a comprehensive assessment head trauma patients are most often given an ice pack and parents told to watch the child as they rest for 24-48 hours. Whether rest and an ice pack is prescribed by “Dr. Mom” or a Physician there are a large number of missed concussions each year (approaching 50%). No matter whether a veteran, child or senior those missed and un-treated concussions have life altering effect.

Without proper diagnosis, Traumatic Brain Injury and concussions in children, veterans, the elderly, and survivors of auto accidents can lead to life altering problems, long after the visible wounds or bruises heal. Some of the long-term effects of concussions or TBI include:

• memory loss
• personality changes
• mood changes
• loss of balance
• reduced ability to focus on tasks
• permanent neurological problems later in life

If you can diagnose their concussions right away and begin brain injury treatment as soon as possible, they can often avoid prolonged or permanent traumatic brain damage that would totally devastate their lives. These missed or improperly diagnosed concussions often lead to frustration and financial burdens for patients and parents. That is why Life Quality USA is on a mission to change the way the world thinks about concussions and how TBI concussions are assessed.

Life Quality USA is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization that attends to military veterans, youth and senior community a unique concussion or TBI, Traumatic Brain Injury assessment tool called “BrainSaver^™ Testing”.

Life Quality USA’s concussion assessment program is called “BrainSaver Testing^™”, which involves a unique Virtual Reality displays that is tied to a computer that monitors neuro-cognitive reactions to virtual reality situations displayed to the test subject. The reactions are quantified and the results displayed in an easy to understand numeric graphical representation of brain deficits associated with concussions or TBI’s. The concussion assessment professionals can determine in 15 minutes if a person has a concussion. When the test shows positive for Traumatic Brain Injury, the patient is immediately sent to a neurologist for formal diagnosis and to begin treatment and avoiding waiting the often-prescribed 24-48 hour observation.
