The Bronx Defenders: Robert P Patterson Jr. Youth Mentoring Program

Since opening its doors in 1997, The Bronx Defenders has served over 300,000 residents of Bronx County. Located in the poorest urban congressional district in the nation, The Bronx Defenders has pioneered a model of legal representation called “holistic defense” that seeks to resolve the underlying issues driving people into the criminal justice system, provide outstanding, high quality legal representation in all areas of a person's life affected by criminal justice involvement and engage with community residents, youth and clients as partners, organizers and thought leaders about ways to better serve the community and enhance access to justice.

The honorable Robert P Patterson Mentoring Program aims to provide Bronx youth with an abundance of growth and development opportunities. Our holistic based team model will allow youth to broaden their positive social and professional networks while strengthening their community.

The Robert P Patterson Mentoring Program provides the Bronx youth with meaningful support and interventions by creating an innovative, team based, community oriented mentoring program for youth at The Bronx Defenders.
