The Program in Holocaust and Human Rights Studies was established at the Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School in the Fall of 2003. The original funding for the Program was a court-awarded grant of an unclaimed portion of the settelment from part of a holocaust claims litigation. The Program is dedicated to the memory of these and other victims of the Holocaust.
The Program's mission focuses on legal education, research/publication and advocacy on issues related to the Holocaust, genocide and human rights. The goal is to illuminate the past, with a view toward preventing such genocides in the future and aiding the victims of human rights abuses whereever they occur.
