Bus Federation Civic Fund

The Bus Federation Civic Fund is a network of homegrown organizations working with next generation leaders and mobilizing huge numbers of volunteers to develop a democracy that is more just and responsive. In 2012 we're making a better democracy with two programs:

National Voter Registration Day:

In 2008, over 6 million voters failed to cast a ballot because they missed registration deadlines or didn’t know how to register. In 2012, National Voter Registration Day aims to ensure no one is left out. By working with celebrities, media, retail, and new non-profit partners, National Voter Registration Day aims to provide an overwhelming presence reminding all eligible Americans to register or re-register to vote.The working group organizing National Voter Registration Day is comprised of APALA Education Fund, the Bus Federation Civic Fund, Nonprofit Vote, League of Women Voters, Fair Elections Leagal Network, and Voto Latino.

Trick or Vote:

Trick or Vote is the nation’s largest collaborative Get Out the Vote event. Reaching over 160,000 households in 2010, Trick or Vote harnesses the power of face-to-face outreach by mobilizing costumed volunteers door-to-door on Halloween. Social science experiments have shown Trick or Vote events highly effective at mobilizing new volunteers and voters.
