Vision In Action Cameroon

Vision in Action Cameroon (VIAC) is a community-based organisation that supports and enables adolescent girls and young women to create programs and influence change in the areas of Gender, Sexuality, Health and Education from a Human Rights approach.

The organisation promotes, protects and advances young people’s sexual reproductive health rights, by building leadership and strengthening initiatives and activities to enjoy a happy relationship, equitable and healthy life that contribute to the development of just community. Founded in July 2007 as a youth club and later on registered as an Association on November 6^th, 2014. VIAC operates with its head office in Buea, and a project office in Bamenda. Over the years, VIAC volunteers have conducted many projects in areas such as adolescent health, STIs, human rights, leadership and gender. While the focus of the organisation remains on youth and their challenges, VIAC recognises that overcoming these difficulties entails talking to many different stakeholders, and has carried out events targeting both in and out of school youth, physically challenged as well as parents, teachers, community leaders and government agencies.

Vision: To improve sexual and reproductive health rights for adolescent girls and young women in Cameroon through a cohesive program of empowerment, advocacy, creative activism and research.

Mission: To dialogue with young people, their communities and relevant stakeholders to develop strategies and address young peoples’ challenges.

Aim: To empower young people with the knowledge and skills on Reproductive Health and Rights to enhance their health rewarding behaviours as well as safety.

Our Activities: Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

1. Education (Sexual Health etc.)
2. Human rights (Safe Abortion, GBV, SGBV)
3. Development (SDG, Volunteerism, participation and Mentorship)
4. Life Skills for both in and out school adolescent and dropouts.

VIAC is dedicated to developing and empowering adolescent girls and young women, sexual minorities and other disadvantaged persons through information and skills training to make informed choices, grow into self-actualised persons capable of contributing towards a better society.
