The Grossman Burn Foundation

Sobre Nós

The Grossman Burn Foundation (GBF), founded in 2007 by Dr. Peter and Rebecca Grossman, serves as the philanthropic arm of the Grossman Burn Centers. The Foundation’s programs provide support for burn victims who have no other means of obtaining quality healthcare. Recently the GBF was featured in a TIME Magazine cover story for its work with Bibi Aisha, the young Afghan woman who was tortured by the Taliban. As part of its Project Faith, the GBF brought Bibi Aisha to the U.S. for reconstructive surgery. Inspired by Bibi Aisha and other international patients, the GBF is now implementing a Triage Training Program (TTP) to train physicians around the world in burn care. By training physicians through telemedicine and visits to the Grossman Burn Centers, doctors in third-world countries will be educated and empowered to address medical challenges in their own nations. The GBF is also embarking on projects to stop acid and burn related violence against women through a vocal petition/documentary featuring Laura Bush, Maria Shriver, and Lisa Ling.
