About Challenge Aspen

Since 1995, Challenge Aspen has provided adaptive recreational and cultural opportunities to thousands of individuals with disabilities from around the world. Based in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado, Challenge Aspen is an internationally established charitable organization. As a leader and innovator offering participants' safe, expert adaptive ski and snowboard instruction and one of the best competitive ski-racing programs available in the world, Challenge Aspen also provides outstanding summer therapeutic art and drama camps to children with physical and mental disabilities. In addition, Challenge Aspen creates adaptive wilderness experiences and provides elite race training for veterans with disabilities.

Challenge Aspen's PSIA certified adaptive ski and snowboard instructors offer expert instruction to more than 140 different disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, visual impairments, amputations, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy to name just a few. Challenge Aspen instructors are trained to the highest level available. Their specialized techniques, coupled with the use of cutting edge equipment, guarantees the experience of a lifetime, in a fun and safe environment for all participants.

Since 1999, Challenge Aspen has also been the host adaptive skiing and snowboarding program for the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, held at Snowmass, Colorado in April of each year.

Challenge Aspen is a non-profit organization and critical partnerships with sponsors like Aspen Ski Company combined with the generous support of the Founders' Circle, National Council members and annual fund raisers, provide the funding necessary for Challenge Aspen to empower all participants through its outdoor and cultural experiences, regardless of financial status.
