IDEA UK promotes the social inclusion of marginalised young people by developing life skills such as critical thinking, analysis, public speaking and teamwork through debate.

We use debate as an innovative method of providing skills training to young people. Debate can be an exciting and interactive way of learning a wide variety of skills including logical reasoning, critical thinking, divergent thinking, conflict resolution, research, public speaking, active listening and building confidence.

IDEA UK is focused on training young people; those in secondary school up to thirty years old. We particularly focus on those between the ages of 16 and 25.

IDEA UK's other area of focus is upon marginalised and disadvantaged groups particularly those who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs), or those at risk of NEET, ethnic minorities, and ex-offenders.
