Villa Assumpta

We are educators in all we do. For School Sisters of Notre Dame, education means transforming the lives of those we serve, especially women, youth and persons who are poor and marginalized. As teachers and administrators, we serve at institutions of higher education, secondary schools, elementary schools, early childhood facilities and adult learning centers. Some of our sponsored institutions include Mount Mary College in Milwaikee, Notre Dame University in Baltimore and Kyoto Notre Dame University in Japan.

We also educate as pastoral and social outreach ministers, spiritual directors, chaplains, health care personel, attorneys, and missionaries. Some of our sisters minister at retreat centers, residential employment/training programs, shelters and prisons.

Through participation in the landmark study on aging and Alzheimer's disease, the Nun Study, our sisters continue to educate . School Sisters of Notre Dame are the focus of the book, Aging with Grace, by Dr,. Daviid Snowdon and have been featured on national television and in National Geographic and Time magazines.
