The Portland Police Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1976 by members of the Bureau and private citizens. It is governed by a Board of Directors.

The Portland Police Museum is the most accessible branch of the Portland Police
Historical Society. Located at 1111 SW 2nd Avenue, the Museum welcomes over 5,000 visitors annually, sharing the history of law enforcement from the beginnings of Portland through to the present.

The Museum receives hundreds of family genealogy and general research requests
every year. The Museum creates an educational opportunity for tour groups and
youth groups, and provides historical information to authors, and television and
movie production staff.

Memorial

You can visit the Memorial, and honor Portland’s fallen officers at the southwest
end of the Hawthorne Bridge, just two blocks from the Justice Center.

Highland Guard

The Mission of the Portland Police Highland Guard is to honor and commemorate fallen police officers and firefighters, from throughout the Pacific Northwest. This is
accomplished with musical presentation at funerals and memorial events. The
Highland Guard dedicated each concert, parade and other performance to those
that have fallen in the line of duty.
