Preventing disabilities in Cameroonian children, treating those already affected, providing professional training, placement and follow-up assistance in view of an effective socio-economic re-integration.

The Centre was created in 2004 in response to the prevalence ofcomplications from neonatal, post natal, post medico-surgical, post polio, ricketitis, trauma, neurovascular diseases and post meningitis, cerebral palsy, and other neurological cases in children in Cameroon especially in the West Province. The statistical significance of these disabilities resulting from these complications was so alarming that a group of persons saw the need for a structured rehabilitation project to see into the needs of these children.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Our project is made up of four phases:

1.Identification of disadvantaged disabled children and provision of treatment (Physical Therapy, splints and mobility aids ).

2.Provision of vocational training or education depending on the age.

3. Placement in gainful employment, group or individual businessess in their communities.

4. Follow-up to ensure maintenance treatment is going on and to to make sure they succeed.
