The International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis, (ISPS) began in 1956 to increase knowledge and understanding of the psychological and experiential aspects of psychosis. iSPS-US was formed in 1998 bringing ISPS objectives and understandings to the U.S.
The overall mission is to promote appropriate use of psychotherapy and psychological treatments for persons with psychotic disorders. It also promotes research in individual, family and group psychological therapies. ISPS supports psychosocial interventions in the treatment and prevention of psychotic mental disorders for the public benefit regardless of race, religion, gender or socio-economic status.
