NeuroSingers
Missão
NeuroSingers is a student-led, 501(c)(3) pending nonprofit organization based in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Our mission is to raise money for neurodegenerative disease research at local universities; and we do this through music and community involvement. Student singers perform at local nursing homes, where music helps bring comfort and hope to residents suffering from these diseases and their families. These performances also serve as fundraisers, with nursing homes donating to support our cause. Students who don’t sing can still get involved, with our new positions opening up! They can participate in non-singing fundraising events, reaching out to donors, or joining our research team, which aims to create research posts on the neurodegenerative disease of the month, making this kind of information/research easier to break down and more accessible to the general public.

Sobre Nós
As of July, we have regularly performed at 2-3 nursing homes per month, and have raised over $200 per month for neuroscience research at the Center for Behavioral Neuroscience. This has accumulated to over $1800 in the past 10 months, and more is pending as of now. Our funds have been allocated to Georgia State University Neuroscience labs, including the Center for Behavioral Neuroscience. We have performed at over 8 locations, and even have upcoming performances this month. Each month, we also choose to focus on one neurodegenerative disease to create research posts on. We have accumulated almost 600 followers on our social media and have a total of about 500 likes on these posts. In the past 90 days, we have reached over 18,500 people for these informational research posts. And not to mention all the lovely people we have had the pleasure of meeting at our performances. Hearing their empowering stories on how their families have been impacted by these diseases, and also hearing stories of how much music has meant to them during hard times, truly means a lot.
